Broadway Advocacy Coalition

I pledge to be held publicly accountable in making Broadway and the larger theatrical industry an anti-racist, equitable community. I pledge to continue to show up in the coming months and years to learn about my role as an ally. I will actively create space for the community to continue to hold me accountable if and when I am not doing my part to stand up against structural racism. I will listen in order to understand, not to defend or deflect.... Read the whole pledge and sign here.

How to Succeed Indefinitely Postponed.

Back in March 2020, Tara was beyond smitten to return to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre in sunny FL as Smitty in their season closing production of H2$.  All the retro dreams were being had as the extraordinary company made it all the way to the invited dress, but unfortunately they did not make it to opening as the world turned upside down with Covid-19. Stay tuned for postponement in 2021.

"Tara Tagliaferro is that breath-of-fresh-air kind of talent....

the kind that comes in the room and uncharacteristically makes you laugh, warms your heart, and refreshes your sensibilities of classic musical theatre repertoire. She is a genuine original in a sea of status quo: smart, sassy, intelligent, and America’s next top character leading lady!"

Alan Souza,

NY Based Director

As "Tanya" in MAMMA MIA:

"Unbelievably, the appearances of three of the main actors are performed by understudies in the beginning of the run.  The result is dazzling.

...Tara Tagliaferro [was] born to play the role."

Stage Reviews, Beyond My Backyard

As "Sister Mary Martin-of-Tours" in Sister Act:

 "...Tara Tagliaferro is a hoot..."

On Boston Stages

As "Jan" in GREASE:

"Tara Tagliaferro had the audience literally 'bending' over in their seats."

Greer Firestone, Sussexcountian.com

As "Lina Lamont" in Singin' in the Rain:

“Tagliaferro steals the whole show though with her truly hilarious rendition of ‘What’s Wrong With Me?’ "

Alec Kerr, The Conway Daily Sun

As the "Female Authority Figure" in Hairspray :

"In her many broadly cartoon-like roles, Tagliaferro made me

laugh out loud."

Gailsez.org

“This girl is a major talent. Unique, playful, and open. Give her a try. She'll figure it out and nail it cause she's hungry like that.”

Tara has served as a director+ choreographer with Sunrise Art Group in China and the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia within their Theatre School, Adopt-a-School, and annual Camp Walnut.  As a teaching artist, she has also taught and created masterclasses + workshops for Broadway Connections, iTheatrics,  Artistree Performing Arts in Westchester, and The Stage Theatre School in BK.

Tara is lucky duck to have trained as a song coach at Goodspeed Opera House with Brent Wagner, former chair of University of Michigan's musical theatre program, and credits Jen Waldman, Mark Price, and Jasper Grant for molding her into the 1:1 Miss Frizzle for rep books she is today.

She is currently the resident song coach and co-founder with Owen Pelesh of BYOSong, a happy hour meets meets artist sandbox for pro actors to sip, slay, + play with their rep, and founder of the Wander Women Sisterhood for fem-identifying artists to intentionally come together, quiet the noise, + refill their wells.

"Tara's choreography is so character driven it truly shines as theater movement and not just choreography. She values art education and understands the true value behind live theater. I say they had Liza with a Z, we are blessed to have Tara with a T!!"

-Samuel Antonio Reyes

Barrymore Award Nominated Choreographer

"I want to say thanks for what you do for Joanna and all the kids. Your obvious passion for the theater - both in your own performance, and in your ability to guide others in finding their strengths - is such a positive influence."

-Ginny Moles

Parent of a Private Coaching Student

"Tara really helped me make new discoveries about myself as an actress. I continue to develop new techniques and skills every time I work with her. She is so much fun to be with and is constantly helping me find new material and audition/performance opportunities. "

-Gabbi Hanes

Past Private Coaching Student

"You have done a great job with Lauren. I have seen her confidence build over the past year. It's hard to find an acting coach with your experience and talent that takes such a strong interest in the success of her students. "
